About Me

Kurtis Rader

Cats are okay but I prefer a couple of man’s best friend to keep me company.

When I’m not working, hacking code for fun, or walking my dogs you are likely to find me watching a movie or reading a book.

As a child I attended Presbyterian church services regularly with my family. Around the age of 15 I learned about other religions and the role of Christianity in European history. I realized it was more likely all religions were false than that only Christianity was true. Plus the acts carried out in the name of Christianity disgusted me. So I became an agnostic. I no longer bought into the dogma of Christianity but still held onto the idea that God might exist.

In my early twenties I read nearly everything written by the philosopher Bertrand Russell and became an atheist. In my forties I read Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, P.Z. Myers, Jerry Coyne, Bart Ehrman and many others. I’m now a vocal atheist.

That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. — Christopher Hitchens

Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived. — Isaac Asimov

No Gods, No Masters — Margaret Sanger
